UN Calls for Accelerated Action with 1,000 Days to Go on Millennium Development Goals

People around the world invited to join in boosting momentum for most successful global anti-poverty push in history. With 1,000 days remaining to the end of 2015 – the target date for achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity is pleased to add its voice to the UN call for accelerated action.

“Biodiversity provides one of the key solutions towards achievement of the MDGs. As we redouble our efforts in these next 1,000 days towards their achievement, let this include implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity and its Aichi Biodiversity Targets” said Braulio Ferreira de Souza Dias, Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
