ABS first MAT

Detail: Within the framework of the implementation of the Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) Process of the Nagoya Protocol, a ceremony presided over by the Minister Delegate of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development, took place on Thursday 2nd of April 2015 in Yaoundé, to sign the First Mutually Agreed Terms (MAT) between Mr. Michel MANE of V.MANE FILS SA and HM. LEKUNZE NEMBO Andreas, Bamumbu Fon, representing the local community of MAGHA-BAMUMBU (South West Cameroon).
The purpose of the MAT is to set out modalities for sharing of benefits between the local community and the company for the purposes of commercialization of genetic material of roots of the plant Echinops giganteus.
