Review of biosecurity agencies, guidelines and procedures
The present study involves the review of biosafety agencies, guidelines and procedures and recommends a framework/system that could be implemented in Cameroon. Biosecurity requires the adoption of a set of attitudes and behaviors on the part of populations to minimize risks in all activities involving human, animal and plant health, and the protection of the environment at the national level, LMOs and foreign exotic species. Biosecurity must be practical and sustainable for everyone — for producers, traders, intermediaries and service providers and for all those who carry out activities that may involve risks. The design of a practical framework/legislation on biosafety will require a synergy of action between all major stakeholders to ensure that this coordination is effective and that those responsible for implementing measures accept the need to do so and clearly see the benefits of this approach.
