Process of developing the national strategy of APA Cameroon

The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), adopted in June 1992, illustrates the international community's commitment to sustainable development. It has three objectives, namely the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising from the exploitation of genetic resources.

As part of the implementation of the CBD, negotiations have been under way in recent years for the adoption of an International Regime on Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) arising from the exploitation of genetic resources.

Cameroon, through MINEPDED, is in the process of developing the national strategy on ABS. The objective of this strategy is to define the options to be taken and to define the actions to be taken by the government in the area of ABS.

Anxious to involve you in the development of this strategy so that it meets the concerns of all stakeholders in the APA process in Cameroon, we have identified these few questions on which your contributions are expected.

The questionnaire can be downloaded HERE.
